Luciana’s Hair Transplant
Case Study
Case Overview
Our patient Luciana came all the way from the UK. As a woman, she suffered from traction alopecia which is a result of receding hairline on females. Her case was categorized as Norwood Scale 2. She was 41 and had no chronic disease. Her primary concern was hair loss in the frontal region, called traction alopecia in women. The primary concern of our patient was the receding hairline in the frontal region. Her donor area was strong and she was an ideal candidate for the Direct hair Transplant technique, known as DHI. She chose MCAN Health for her hair transplant operation in Istanbul, Turkey.

Problem
Luciana was experiencing hair thinning in the frontal section of her scalp, a common issue among women facing androgenetic alopecia. The hair loss was particularly evident along the hairline, leading to a gradual reduction in hair density that had started to impact her confidence and appearance. As a female patient, the preservation of hair density and the natural look of the hairline were crucial considerations.
Solution
Given Luciana’s specific needs, the DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) technique was selected as the most appropriate solution. This method is particularly effective in female hair transplants, where precision and natural aesthetics are paramount. The DHI technique allows for the meticulous implantation of individual hair follicles, ensuring that the new hairline blends seamlessly with the existing hair.
A total of 3000 grafts were harvested from Luciana’s donor area, located in the occipital region. Each graft was carefully implanted into the thinning areas of the frontal section, with special attention to the angle, direction, and density to mimic natural hair growth. The straight nature of her hair further facilitated a smooth and natural integration of the transplanted hair.
Post-procedure, Luciana received detailed aftercare instructions, including the use of mild topical antibiotics to prevent infection and support healing. She was also briefed on the expected timeline for hair growth, with full results anticipated within 12 to 18 months. This procedure was particularly successful in restoring Luciana’s hairline and enhancing her overall hair density, demonstrating the effectiveness of DHI for female patients seeking hair transplant solutions in Turkey.
