Scott L.’s Hair Transplant
Case Study
Case Overview
Scott L., a 35-year-old male patient from the United Kingdom, had complaints about his male pattern baldness, which was classified as Norwood Scale 4. In Scott’s case, the hair thinning was mainly visible in the frontal region. Having a dense donor area and straight hair, Scott was a fitting candidate for an effective Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) procedure. In order to get back his natural-looking hair, he began to search for a reliable place where he could trust. Scott chose MCAN Health to have his hair transplant in Turkey.

Grafts: | 3500 |
Technique: | FUE |
Donor Strength: | Moderate |
Hair Type: | Straight |
Problem
Scott was suffering from receding hairline as a cause of androgenetic alopecia. This type of hair loss leads to a decrease in the overall volume and density of hair. It is a genetic disorder where patients have elevated DHT (dihydrotestosterone) levels and extreme response levels to androgens.
As his hair loss became more obvious, Scott was getting concerned. It was affecting his self-esteem and quality of life. Consequently, he found MCAN Health and decided to start his hair transplant journey.
Solution
In Scott’s case, Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) was the best option due to the type of hair he has and the density of the donor area. All of this made it possible to have a seamless hair transplant that was well-integrated with natural hair. During this procedure, a total of 3500 grafts were harvested from the donor area and meticulously implanted by trichologists into the target area with no visible scarring left on the scalp. After the operation, Scott’s hair gained back its density and the natural look it once had.
Concerning his post-operative care, Scott was instructed by our team about his aftercare routines and checkup schedule. He was also prescribed antibiotics and a few supplements to prevent infections and promote hair growth.
Scott’s case showcases how useful and successful an FUE procedure can be when the patient’s hair has enough density and a suitable hair type.
